- I bought this book for my son to use with my grandson. Loved it so much that I bought a second one for the au pair to have too. !!!
- We purchased several signing books to learn signs to teach our new baby and this one has become the favorite of the family. The visuals are great and easy to understand. The explanations are clear and easy to relate to the family - children and hubby alike. The journal aspect has proven to be one of my favorites as it allows you to note when you introduce the sign to the baby and when they first use it back to you.
- Great book. Easy to read. Explanations and drawings are clear. I started signing to my 8month baby right away.
- Very clearly written with great current information on signing and introducing it to your child. Gives clear instruction on how to introduce basics of signing to your child at a variety of ages (I waited until my son was 6 months to get the book, but signing can be introduced even earlier according to the book). Illustrations of signs are easy to understand and come with memory references to help you recall the signs (i.e. the sign for "bath" is similar to making washing motions on your chest). I would recommend this book as a great basic guide and dictionary of signs for anyone wanting to introduce their children to this new skill.
- I'm a speech therapist and although I work in early intervention and use sign language frequently, Sara Bingham's book, The Baby Signing Book has elevated my knowledge and has given me some extra tools to use with my little ones. I love all the unique ideas and creative songs to get a baby's attention to the signs. The ability to enhance language through sign is amazing! Thanks for the knowledge.
